The tariffs currently in place are affecting a wide range of consumer products and many of our overseas-sourced CM products are included and affected. The amounts are impactful enough that we must begin passing them along.
In the cart/during checkout you will begin seeing “Tariff Surcharge” as its own line item as shown below. When applicable, it will also be included as its own line item when viewing orders from your Account and on the order confirmation email.
Why are tariffs being applied to the cart at checkout?
- Adding the tariff impact as a surcharge in the cart allows us to be flexible as tariffs change.
- When we created the new Creative Memories Advisor commission model, we designed our Advisor payout to be as rich as possible. This means that with significant tariffs on the cost of goods, we cannot absorb that increase and need to share some of that cost.
- We have chosen to apply the tariff surcharge in the cart at checkout rather than in the retail price because tariff on goods made in China are so significant, if added to the retail price, could easily be misunderstood by shoppers to be the actual cost of the product vs. additional costs imposed.
What products will have tariff surcharges?
- Any product affected by an overseas tariff will include a surcharge.
Does Australia have any tariffs?
- At this time Australian Advisors and customers are not experiencing any tariff surcharges.
Does Canada have any tariffs?
- Yes, Canadian Advisors and customers are experiencing a tariff on goods made in the U.S.
- Currently, those tariffs are built into the retail price.
- In the future, it is possible tariffs will be moved to a surcharge in the cart. We will update here if that is planned to occur.
