As you may know, PayPal is our partner for credit card processing and powers the functionality behind vaulting cards. They are making some changes for additional security and compliance, which means shoppers’ experience with vaulting/saving credit card information will be a bit different beginning this Wednesday, July 24.
The primary change is that saving/vaulting a new card will take place during checkout.
- You will only be able to save a new card when making a purchase. On other websites, you will have seen this as “Save for later use.”
- You will be able to view your vaulted cards on your My Credit Card Vault screen. You will notice that “Add Card” and “Edit” have been removed. When PayPal has that functionality added to their updates, the team will restore them.
During this update, most Advisors and customers will not see any changes in your saved/vaulted cards because they are included in group #1:
1. Your vaulted cards have already been migrated and securely re-vaulted if…
- You had a vaulted card with a July 2024 or later expiration date.
- For those whose cards were migrated to the new vault, when checking out you will see it/them displayed like this.
For Advisors and customers in group #2, your card was not migrated and will need to be re-saved when making your next purchase after Wednesday.
2. You fall into this category if:
- You added or edited a card in your vault after June 27.
- You designated a card for renewal after June 27.
- You joined as an Advisor after June 27.
When checking out, if you do not see a card listed on the payment screen, you will want to click the “Save for later use” box when entering your credit card information.
For Advisors’ peace of mind with auto renewal, we suggest you:
- Visit your My Credit Card Vault screen the next time you’re in your account.
- Verify that you have a card vaulted and designated for renewal. If you do, you’re all set.
- If you don’t, you’ll want to make a note to yourself to “Save for later use” during your next order.
- After your order, it will appear on your My Credit Card Vault screen and you can designate it for renewal.
For both customers and Advisors, if you have any issues, the Customer Service Team is your go-to for help. With this transition, they have even more information at hand to assist. You can reach them at CustomerService@CreativeMemories.com or you can call (320) 281-1424, leave a message with a few details and they will call you back.
We appreciate your patience and understanding with these necessary PayPal changes and we are happy to help you navigate them.
Q. If I see my payment method(s) during checkout and my card designated for auto renewal on the My Credit Card Vault screen, is there anything else I need to do?
A. There is no action you’ll need to take if you’re seeing your card information there and designated for renewal.
Q. I updated my card information after June 27. What should I do?
A. On your next order, you will want to enter in the card information that you would like vaulted and click the “Save for later use” box. That will put the card into your vault. After completing your order, you’ll want to visit your My Credit Card Vault page and select it for auto renewal.
Q. I am an Advisor and have new team members who signed up between June 27-July 24. Will the credit card information they entered during sign-up show up in their vault?
A. It will not, unless they have placed their first order and clicked “Save for later use.” When placing an order on or after July 24, 2024, they will want to click that box, then select that card for auto renewal on their My Credit Card Vault screen.
Q. When I entered my credit card information and tried to save it I got an error message. How can I get it through?
A. There can be different reasons for this. You’ll first want to double-check that the address you entered for the card and the address your credit card company has on file match. If they are a match, the credit card information is accurately entered and you are still having trouble, please contact customer service. You can email CustomerService@CreativeMemories.com or you can call (320) 281-1424, leave a message with your details and they will call you back.
Q. I don’t see a place to enter an address when using my vaulted card.
A. Once you have a card vaulted, there is no need to enter an address. On your Review & Payments screen all you need to do is click on the radio button next to your vaulted card and click Place Order.
Q. I thought I had a card vaulted, but am not seeing it on My Credit Card Vault screen.
A. The mostly likely reason is that the card passed its expiration date. PayPal will automatically remove vaulted cards after they expire. On your next order you can enter in the updated card information and click “Save for future use” to re-vault it.
